My mother was 7 and lived at the farm when the plane crashed in 1940. They were listening to the 1 o'clock news when the crash happened. My mother and her family looked after the crew after the crash. At least one of the crew was carried in on a door. She has lots of memories of the crew who came back to see them each christmas and she made snowmen with them and they brought her presents and made a real fuss of her. They used to play the piano and sing songs together.. She can recount much of the detail even though only 7 at the time. If interested contact me at philip1barnes@yahoo.co.uk my mother is called Sylvia Barnes nee Durent part of the Langton family.
